After 25 Years of Modeling: Christy Turlington is back again & again

Perfectly Prada: For the new Prada campaign, shot by Steven Meisel, the model joins younger faces like Freja Beha and Amanda Murphy for the Italian fashion house's fall campaign

Christy Turlington’s modeling comeback–which is beginning to feel like a fall campaign takeover–is in full swing. Last month, we reported Turlington would be returning as the face of Calvin Klein Underwear, 25 years after her first campaign with the brand. And today brings news of two other major campaigns starring the 44-year-old ’90s-era supermodel: Jason Wu and Prada.
At Jason Wu, Turlington replaces fellow supermodel Stephanie Seymour (who is also 44) in a campaign that is more or less identical to last season’s. It’s the same setup by the same photogs (Inez and Vinoodh) at a different expensive restaurant with a different supermodel, and Wu decided to actually stand by his decision to appear in the ads this time. Regardless, Turlington looks amazing. (And Wu looks pretty cute, too.)
Ditto for the new Steven Meisel-lensed Prada ads, which feature a mix of well-known faces like Turlington and Freja Beha, and new faces like Amanda Murphy.
It’s proof that Turlington, like a lot of older supermodels it seems, is still in high demand after more than 25 years in the Biz. Of course, it probably doesn’t hurt that she simply does. not. age.

Most Underrated Fashionista of 2012

Known for her signature pixie cut and occasional smile, you think Ginnifer Goodwin is the most underrated star on the red carpet.
She is never one to put a foot wrong and she doesn’t slavishly follow trends. In fact she’s started a few, so why doesn’t she get enough credit?
The actress kick-started the year in a hot pink Roksanda Ilincic frock (which I still swooned over 11 months on); she lit up the red carpet wearing a bold orange-hued Monique Lhuillier gown to the Met Gala; she took a risk in an unusual Vitor & Rolf dress; my favourite look from the LACMA 2012 Art + Film Gala honoring Ed
Ruscha and Stanley Kubrick was her Gucci ensemble ; and, she can do cutesy as well in Oscar de la Renta.
With this kind of track record, Vanity Fair should have added her to their Best Dressed List instead of… well… you know who.
