Metallic Makeup to go with The Look of the Week for the Holidays!

Eyes: A light wash of metallic eyeshadow gives a foolproof, elegant glow but layered on luster really gets the party started.

Metallic makeup has revved it's shine-infused engine into a fever pitch this year, making full metal a full-force trend. Blame it on the spring runways, where models at Prada sported creamy silver eyeshadow from lid to brow, Rodarte went the gilded routed with gold lips and lashes, and designers like Thakoon and Vera Wang added a subtle metal-flecked glow to cheeks. Now pair spring's luster with holiday makeup collections packed with mixed metals and we've got an updated spin on the metallic theme. So if you're ready to get lit over the holidays—by gold, silver, and bronze makeup, of course—then trade up your everyday products for something with a reflective kick.

Lips: Sheer gold and silver glosses can be worn alone or add a reflective punch to any lip color, or pick up a shade with metallic shine. For a more opaque look, brush a high-pigment shadow onto the lips.
