Francisco Costa showed his Resort 2011 collection at CK HQ on 39th Street, and in case you were wondering, minimalism isn't going anywhere. Of course, it's only Costa who manages to execute this vibe with such a light touch and effortless effect. With t-shirt dressing as a starting point, the twenty looks brilliantly played with length and volume. Billowing silk pants, paired with a tailored jacket, are an updated option for Summer's ubiquitous maxi skirt, while Costa's take on a sheath—elbow-length, with a slightly fuller skirt that narrows a few inches below the knee—is another welcome transgression from the norm. With a palette of mostly black, white, royal blue, and lilac, there was nary a bright in sight—but then again, Costa never needs to shout.
